Amy Beatty is the Community Services Director and Superintendent of Parks and Recreation for the City of Wilmington. Amy attended East Carolina University where she earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Community Health and Master of Arts in Public Health Education.

 

After working as a health educator, Amy transitioned to the field of parks and recreation when she accepted a position with the City of Wilmington. Amy has been employed with the City for eighteen years, serving in various roles within the Parks and Recreation Division. As Superintendent for Parks and Recreation she managed capital projects, parks, landscaping and right-of way maintenance, urban forestry management and maintenance, cultural activities related to Downtown Wilmington, and recreation facilities operations and programming city-wide.

 

As Community Services Director she oversees Parks and Recreation, Community Development and Code Enforcement.

 

Her professional interests include sports and entertainment tourism, health and wellness, greenway development and quality of life issues relating to a healthy, livable community.
