Deepening of the Cape Fear River - Consequences and Building Opposition

At our April meeting, Dr. Fred Bingham mentioned sea level rise and the last deepening of the Cape Fear River, leading to questions from the audience about the next proposed dredging. On May 6, Erin Carey, State Conservation Policy Director, and Kemp Burdette, Cape Fear River Keeper, will speak to us on the impact the deepening of the river will have on the surrounding environment, including all creatures great and small, the city of Wilmington and what we can do to oppose the deepening.
