Save Sledge Forest held a fundraiser at Fermental Beer and Wine on August 15th to raise support for this nonprofit group's diligent work to protect our last, large expanse of old growth forest in New Hanover County. On October 6th, the organization will present 12,000 petition signatures against development in this forest to the County Commissioners. Everyone is invited to attend a "Community Gathering of Friends of Save Sledge Forest" at 3 pm prior to the County Commissioners Meeting.
